Emotionally engaged or feeling anxious and cynical? School experiences and links to school achievement among Finland-Swedish general and special education students

Abstract The aim of the study was to enhance understanding how seventh graders vary in emotional engagement and experienced well-being at school terms anxiety cynicism. two profiles were explored, comparisons made between students general education those special education. participants comprised 119 Finland–Swedish from five secondary schools. Four emotional-engagement identified based on cluster analysis. with most typical profile moderately engaged teacher-student interaction emotionally highly peer interaction, combined a low risk showed no statistically significant differences regarding gender achievement.
